My Introduction to Fellow Bloggers

Ok, so in my weird and wonderful world, New Year’s doesn’t start until February; post overcoming the trauma of the previous year and the inevitable ‘New Year’s Blues’ that we all face.

After conquering my mock GCSE’s and handing in my application to my chosen college for my chosen A-level courses, the year can officially begin and what a year it’s looking to be, I can hardly contain my excitement!
The year may seem to be off to a slow start and stress may already be tugging at the bags under my eyes but I remain positive that the plans made for over February should start my social ball rolling!!

As one of my New Year’s resolutions is to do something worthwhile every month, I’m using January as a chance to start my blog; that will hopefully pose as interest to people and possible colleges and universities (when that time comes).
I enjoy writing and wish to become an events/fashion journalist in the future after taking English in both college and university; so any comments or constructive criticism would be GREAT!

February’s ‘something worthwhile’ is to make a perfect host of myself as two close friends are visiting over February half term (25th February- 7th March) from Herefordshire. They visit every year but often at different times so having them both stay in my pokey room will be quite a challenge but hopefully a lot of fun. Also, for me and millions of other teenagers in my position it’s also the month for sorting out college applications and sitting mocks for reasons that still baffle my friends and I.
Of course, February for many of you is the month of love, so I wish you all in advance a Happy Valentine’s Day!

March brings my first ever concert which I am very excited about. I am going to see The Script perform at Plymouth with my good friend. They’re currently on their “Science and Faith” tour, which I have learned all the words to in preparation for a good old sing-a-long! I’ve never heard them perform live on television or on the radio so it will be interesting to see if Danny O'Donaghue really is the smooth voiced, ‘dream-boat’ we all think he is. After all, it’s well known that some singers are proven better on record than live.

I'm planning on flourishing like a rose!

Like many people around the country, April is the time for finalising festival plans and getting together a summer wardrobe for all those events and special summer occasions!
Being a bit different is always important and as the seasonal jobs start to hire around Easter, which generally funds my clothing and activities through the summer. My ‘Something Worthwhile’ is to redefine my independents with this new income; as like many people I know, I’ve to rely heavily on my family this winter and, as I do every year, regret not saving some money from last summer; I’ll have to try better next time!

Run To The Sun

May is exam month! So my ‘Something Worthwhile’ is inevitably to concentrate on that and revise; how is it worthwhile? Well although ‘fun’ doesn’t come into the equation, results do and Radio 1 will be playing out the tunes to get the country motivated for this marathon!

Marilyn in THAT dress

BUT! All work and no play made a girl one bored chick so I’m hoping to make it up to Newquay for the ‘Run to the Sun’ in the half term to catch a tan, check out the awesome VW campers and take photos of the scene. (Of course I will be reporting on it all and blogging it!)
There’s also a private party happening at a local restaurant with the theme of “At the Movies” that I will be attending as the gorgeous Marilyn Monroe with my new ‘do’ and a white pleated dress to mimic her in the movie “The Seven Year Itch”.

Maizy Day, Golowan
Market Jew Street in Penzance, Cornwall

It all kicks off in June; not even mentioning my 16th Birthday!!! This month hosts local festivals such as Lafrowda and Golowan which is a must-attend as far as I’m concerned. So, in connection to all these events, my ‘Something Worthwhile’ is to report on all the events I go to and use my new professional camera as much as possible (although I’ve made note to do that every month).
Golowan is such a lovely weekend event that the whole community get involved in. Parades of home-made sculptures roam up and down the main street and market stools selling everything from clothes and gifts to hair-brades and henna tattoos.

A tonne of bricks is dropped n the 1st July in the form of prom; the

most important event of Secondary School, so they say. This month I will be posting a blog about all the different types of prom dresses and prom hair to get in the spirit of the event. This is also the month that thousands of year 11’s, including me, that face the end of school before the holidays that will prepare us for college. It’s such an exciting but nerve-racking time for us all as we finally realise that we’re about to grow up; grow up or fall behind, there really isn’t much choice but personally I’m feeling confident that I will settle into college just as well as my older friends did last year, and the year before that, and the year before that; works like clockwork really.

Watergate Bay, Newquay: Relentless Boardmasters
August should be, by far, the best month of the year: not only is Newquay coming alive for the AMAZING Relentless Boardmasters for the weekend; surfers and skaters will compete over the weekend for the final cash prize alongside famous bands and solo singers performing on one of the stages. It’s the event of the summer for thousands of people all over the UK and everyone’s got their fingers, toes, eyes crossed for great weather and awesome headline acts; and my ‘Something Worthwhile’? Let my hair down and PICTURES! PICTURES! PICTURES!
Oh! And wish me luck for receiving my GSCE results from school.
August will be the perfect way to end the summer before I start college and become buried in English literature & language coursework!

I hope you enjoy my forthcoming blogs about all the events I attend in Cornwall and around the UK; this was a kind of introduction to all my fellow bloggers out there and I hope you continue to read and view my Blog for as long as I continue to post them. After all, I can only get better and it would great to hear your comments below! Cheerrrrs <3
